| Gear: | "Super-Ax" - modified Les Paul - Fender Precision pickup custom mounted under low E and A strings. An octave pedal is used to drop them 2 octaves creating a 2-string bass and a 4-string guitar. *Guild custom shop dreadnaught - incredibly deep sounding instruments, I can play bass-lines under my rhythms and chords. *Guild custom shop archtop - deep rich sound, when accompanying keyboard/organ, able to support bass lines w/o octave petal. *Hand carved acoustic archtop - this is a brighter tone and, since its a true acoustic guitar, limited sustain. This is what I would use to perform with keys/bass and no drums. |
| Resume: | I joined because I am looking to fill out a small combo (and need bass player) or I can work with keyboard and/or other instruments holding up bass with the different guitars listed under "gear". However, if I could hook up with an acoustic bass player (or a mellow electric stylist), could perform as duo or small combo. Let's talk about what you want to do! Studied jazz guitar at Wisconsin Conservatory of Music (long ago, when it was a full program). Took classes with: Manty Ellis Tony King Harold Miller Studied with some great Milwaukee Jazz guitarists including: Jack Grassel Kirk Tatnall John Zaffiro Played coffeehouse (solo acoustic) when that genre was popular, various blues and rock bands. Currently looking to keep things in a jazzier-vein and stay away from driving-overdriven guitar styles.
