Way back in the early-90s, I was in a Chicago band called Quaker Youth Ensemble. We were a punk/funk/rock band; nominated as Best Unsigned Band in the 1991 Chicago Musician Awards (right alongside Smashing Pumpkins). Since then, I've played a lot of blues (I used to work at Buddy Guy's Legends, and jammed with a number of Chicago blues legends), taught myself traditional grip Gene Krupa-_style_ swing, and played in a big band for a while. I'm looking for some fun, funky, jazzy musicians who want to play a few gigs here and there, mostly all-ages stuff so my son can come watch. I'm an engineer now, and not looking to go on tour or play a lot of out-of-town gigs....

It's all at the talking stage right now; we need a bass p_layer_, maybe some keys, maybe more. Anyone interested in having some fun with some talented veteran musicians?
